What is a business quality score?

A business quality score looks at how strong the financial profile appears in filings and reported results. Chartloom reviews margins, free cash flow, return on invested capital, balance-sheet strength, and revenue quality. Banks and other financials use sector-specific measures such as capital ratios and return on equity. This page lists the highest quality scores first.

Highest Quality Scores FAQs

For most companies it covers gross margin, free cash flow margin and conversion, balance-sheet strength, return on invested capital, revenue quality, and whether margins are improving. Financial companies use a sector template, including capital ratios and return on equity, so the score stays comparable inside that industry.

Profit alone does not set the score. Weak free cash flow conversion, a strained balance sheet, low return on capital, or deteriorating margins can pull a quality score down even when revenue is growing. The factor panel on each row shows which inputs drove the result.

No. Quality describes the financial profile. Moat describes structural advantages such as switching costs or network effects. The two lists overlap sometimes, and they diverge when a high-return business has a narrower competitive position, or the reverse.
